Relationships

HeaderFamily

Veronica

As his only living direct blood relative, Bezewanst cares deeply for his sister Veronica, as she does for her little brother. Because of this mutual love, Veronica used her great influence as the Archduke's wife and later mother of the next Archduke to cover for Bezewanst's misbehaviour. This protection, coupled with his inferiority complex, caused Bezewanst to spiral to ever lower lows and committing ever worse crimes, while believing his relationship to his sister made him untouchable, which eventually led to both of them being convicted for treason.

Sylvester

Bezewanst's connection to Sylvester, his nephew, is that of him abusing his relation to Veronica to defend himself against the Aub himself.

Georgine

Bezewanst is very close to his niece, Georgine, who was married off to a distant Aub in the humiliating status of third wife. When she was married off to Ahrensbach, the two kept in contact via Ordonnanz for decades, until Bezewanst's demise.

Ferdinand

Ferdinand is Bezewanst's nephew-in-law, but despite that, they don't get along well, likely due to Veronica's extreme dislike for Ferdinand colouring Bezewanst's own views. Bezewanst however does respect Ferdinand's abilities, leading him to push as much work as he feasibly can onto his High Priest. Bezewanst is also very wary of Ferdinand's abilities and intelligence - again likely due to Veronica's outright paranoia over Ferdinand - and thus goes to great length to ensure that his crimes do not leave trains that lead back to himself and only commits his worst crimes when the High Priest is busy or absent.

Jenni

Jenni is one of Bezewanst's grey shrine maidens, often called upon to offer flower. Despite this abuse, she is utterly loyal.

Myne

Myne is commoner apprentice blue shrine maiden. At first Bezewanst saw her only as an opportunity for profit and mana, thinking her a rich girl. When he saw she was poor, he tried to use his status to force her into the position of grey shrine maiden. In return, he was crushed, wounding his pride as he realized that though she was a commoner, she had enough mana to threaten him, perhaps even more than him, sparking his inferiority complex.

Bezewanst spent the rest of his life trying to undermine Myne, get in her way, or try to get rid of her entirely because she "upset" the entire order of the Temple.

HeaderNobles

Count Bindewald

Count Bindewald is an Ahrensbach noble, who has come to get Myne. Bezewanst is easily able to see through the thin veneer of politeness displayed by the count and knows how much the count disrespects him. He in turn also despises the count, and due to being in a position where the count needs him, Bezewanst doesn't bother to hide it. Despite this, they still work together for their mutual goals.

Hasse's Mayor

Since Bezewanst does not have a highbeast he is forced to travel by coach and thus is one of the very few nobles who often pass through and stay in Hasse. There he was able to form a good relationship with the local mayor and was able to enjoy plenty of bribes in the form of flowers and sweet fruit over the years.
