Bezewanst (ベーゼヴァンス Beezewansu) is the High Priest of the temple of Ehrenfest and the only one who outranks Head Priest Ferdinand. Since he was raised the in the temple, and therefore did not go to the Royal Academy, he is not considered a true noble, leading most nobles to look down on him.
Personality
Bezewanst leaves most of the work of actually running the temple to Ferdinand, and spends most of his time simply enjoying the perks of his position. He looks down upon people that are of lesser status of him and enjoys their suffering. He is also very vengeful, willing to go to great length to seek retribution upon those he deems to have wronged him, prioritizing his revenge over the good of the temple and duchy.
He is able to quite competently hide his character flaws and project an air of benevolence and kindness much in contrast to his true self, if he deems it beneficial to himself.
History
Story
In the beginning he is the head of the temple in Ehrenfest. He first appears during Myne's baptism ceremony. Myne looks like a rich girl, which is why he treated her well despite her being a commoner. When he summoned her parents to the temple to talk about her apprenticeship, he learned that she is from a poor family. His attitude changed rapidly to a condescending one. A fight begins and he was nearly crushed to death by Myne, although he did lose consciousness. He despises Myne for being a commoner possessing more mana than him.
When Myne joins the temple, upon hearing that the Head Priest is assigning one of his own attendants to Myne, he decided to allocate one of his own attendants as well, as a means to spy on her; as well as assign the temple's worst problem child to Myne.
