Cassandra is an Ehrenfest student, name-sworn to Charlotte[2] and Barthold's younger sister.[3]
Story
Part 5 Volume 1
Cassandra is one of the five student, who's parents are executed for severe crimes committed for either Veronica or Georgine. Thanks to Lady Rozemyne's compassion, she and her fellow orphans are not executed by Aub Ehrenfest, but allowed to live, provided they give their name to a member of the archducal family. Cassandra chooses to give her name to Lady Charlotte and thus becomes her apprentice attendant.[2]

Originally Cassandra strongly considers giving her name to Lady Rozemyne, but her brother manages to convince her to choose Lady Charlotte instead, due to Rozemyne's poor health and because at the time Charlotte was expected to marry into another duchy. If her lady were to marry into another duchy, as her atendant Cassandra would be able to move with her and thus leave the duchy, opening up much better marriage prospects than remaining in Ehrenfest, where she will likely be stigmatized as the child of a criminal for the rest of her life.[3] |
