Egon (エゴン, Egon) is a grey priest originally from the Ehrenfest temple.
He and Achim are assigned to spend a winter in Hasse, teaching the local commoners how to interact with nobles.
Story
Following the debacle caused by the former mayor of Hasse, Rozemye quickly realizes that his successor Richt had no idea what the euphemisms he's trying to use in his letters to nobles actually mean. For example, he takes the phrase "offering of flowers and sweet fruits" literally by offering actual flowers and an assortment of fruits and freshly pressed fruit juice, not knowing that in noble society it is a euphemism for sexual services and alcohol.
She chooses Egon and a second grey priest to stay with Hasse's people over the winter to teach them how to properly interact with nobles to avoid another disaster happening from miscommunication.
Apart from teaching Richt, the two are also instructed to gather the stories of the local townsfolk for her as part of what she internally calls "Operation Grimm," intending to print a compilation of folk stories at a later date.
Initially, the two have a bit of a hard time adjusting to the dirty environment and the rough table-manners of the townspeople, but they nevertheless manage to fulfill their tasks perfectly and return to the temple the following spring.[1]
Part 4 Volume 4
Following the return of Lady Rozemyne from her first term at the Royal Academy, Achim is planned to be part of the teams that will go into other provinces to teach the locals how to establish a paper-making workshop. Rozemyne personally chose Achim for this, so he can continue his task of gathering local stories as part of "Operation Grimm," which had to lay dormant during her coma.[2]
