Info

Fraularm (フラウレルム, Furaurerumu) is a former Ahrensbach noble now teaching at the Royal Academy. One of her subjects is High Beast Creation for first-years[2].

She also teaches second-year courses on history and sociology[3].

Header.pngAppearance

Fraularm is a woman who looked to be in her mid-forties. According to Rozemyne, she "wore a prideful expression that matched the sharp, prickly aura she exuded"[2].

Header.pngPersonality

Fraularm is prideful, irritable, and resistant to change, such that Hirschur described her as "hardheaded"[4]. She often let her own emotions get the better of her, and would scream in her distinctive high-pitched voice whenever things are not going her way. She is also exceedingly resentful, such that she has been repeatedly trying to sabotage Rozemyne and Ehrenfest ever since she fainted out of shock upon seeing Rozemyne's highbeast.

Header.pngHistory

Fraularm is a scholar and was hired as a professor after the purge opened up many new positions at the royal academy. When people address the decline of the quality of education following the civil war she tends to react sensitive and becomes defensive, as if she's taking such remarks to be criticism of her own teaching abilities, rather than general remarks[1].

As a scholar herself it's no surprise that apart from the general courses for first and second years, she mainly teachers subjects of the scholar's course, information gathering and taxonomy among them[5].

Aub Ahrensbach appointed her as his duchy's dormitory supervisor for her supposed skill at gathering information[6].

Part 4 Volume 4

Aub Ahrensbach is growing increasingly frustrated and upset with Fraularm. Despite supposedly being a specialist in information gathering, her reports are highly biased in her subjective views and thus lack the accuracy expected from a person of her position. Due to the inaccurate nature of her reports Ahrensbach has fallen considerably behind other duchy in diplomatic matters over the last few years. Lady Georgine promised that she will personally talk to and rebuke Fraularm[6].

Part 4 Volume 6

During Rozemyne's second term at the royal academy, Fraularm continues her attempts to undermine Ehrenfest. When all the Ehrenfest second year students manage to not only all pass the history exam on the first attempt, but manage to do this after also being the first duchy to turn in all their tests and all get not just passing, but actually good marks on it, she raises a fuss about this being highly suspicious.

While her fellow proctors see nothing suspicious in this, she still manages to cause a discussion that lasts long enough that two other duchies who turned their tests in after Ehrenfest are announced to also reach all passing marks before a conclusion can be made for the tenth.

Eventually her colleagues overrule Fraularm and announce that Ehrenfest also reached all passing marks, frustrating the former Ahrensbach noble so much that she completely fails to conceal her frustration to the point out audibly shrieking[7].

This attempt at undermining Ehrenfest was by no means a snap decision. She started to gather documents pertaining to her predecessors syllabus right after the students left the academy in the previous year[5].

Her attempts to sabotage Ehrenfest do not stop there either. Under the pretense of wanting to make sure that Ehrenfest was indeed not cheating, she manages to push through a change in the syllabus of sociology class to that taught before the civil war. Due to the exam covering topics not taught for more than a decade the students who were prepared to pass their exam on the first day were caught completely off guard. When Ortwin of Drewanchel questions why the first problem was something that did not appear in the previous year's syllabus, she explains that this topic was taught to students in the past, so she chose to incorporate it to convey the wisdom of their forebearers. Despite supposedly giving a neutral explanation to Ortwin, Fraularm clearly smirks in amusement toward the Ehrenfest students, leaving no one in the room with any doubt as to who her true target in this is.

This change prompted the majority of students to give up on passing the exam on the first day and handing their tests in early. Despite the surprise change the students of Ehrenfest managed to answer all the questions and once again every single one of them received passing marks on the first day, the very thing Fraularm tried to disrupt. The other professors commented on how splendid Ehrenfest had done and how this proved beyond a doubt that Ehrenfest did not cheat, leaving Fraularm no other choice than to announce Ehrenfests passing marks, failing to conceal how vexed she feels[3].

A few days later a ternisbefallen is reported to rampage in the Ehrenfest gathering spot. Due to the danger of the beast, the Ehrenfest students call upon the professors for help and Rauffen goes to summon the sovereign knight's order to deal with it[8].

Following the incident it was decided that an investigation was required. Not only was it important to assure that no others of its kind were lurking around, the behavior of the slain beast was also quite unusual. After arriving and escaping the Werkerstock dormitory, the beast should have homed in either on the closest or the strongest mana source, but did neither. Instead it ignored the much more mana-rich grounds of the greater duchies and even went right past both the Ahrensbach and Fernbeltag gathering spots to charge in a straight line toward Ehrenfest.

The professors chosen for this task are Rauffen, due to being the one who called upon the knight's order, Hirschur on account of being the supervisor of the attacked duchy's dormitory, Gundolf who volunteered and Fraularm.

The trail of destruction left behind by the beast started at the now abandoned former Werkerstock dormitory, so they reopened it to investigate. To make sure the professors would stay impartial and not try to steal any magic tools left behind by the fallen duchy two members of the sovereign knight's order were assigned to accompany them into the dormitory after unlocking the main gate at the king's behest.

Gundolf and Fraularm arrived at the dormitory door right on time, while Rauffen went to Hirschur's lab to pry her away from her research in the expectation that she would either arrive with a big delay or not at all otherwise. While Rauffen managed to do so, the pair still arrives a little after the decided time.

In the meantime Gundolf and Fraularm already enter the dormitory and upon entry Fraularm immediately cast waschen to clean the entry hall and the connecting corridor, stating she could not be expected to enter such a dirty place, since it would ruin her clothes. This sparked an argument with her colleague Gundolf, during which Hirschur and Rauffen arrive.

Fraularm tried to get Hirschur on her side in the argument, as she thought that, as a fellow woman, Hirschur would understand her aversion to dirtying her clothes, but Hirschur flatly stated that was what brewing clothes were for.

After this discussion had come to an end, the present people split into two teams of two professors and one knight each. Hirschur and Rauffen investigated the cellar, while Gundolf and Fraularm went to the second and third floors.

During the investigation neither team turned up any disturbances of the thick dust-layer or anything else suspicious. Gundolf also stated that they found no evidence of the teleportation circle being used. He volunteered to help the knights compile the report for the King and told Hirschur and Fraularm they could leave if they wished, adding that Ahrensbach had been proven to not be involved, though he insisted on Rauffen staying with him for the report for administrative purposes, since he was the one who called upon the knight's order[9].
