Gil (ギル Giru) is an apprentice priest from the temple and is assigned as one of Myne's attendants along with Delia and Fran when she joins the temple.
Personality
Gil was initially known as a sharp-tongued troublemaker who was well-known among the other priests and shrine maidens for not fulfilling his duties and spending his time in the repentance chamber. However, once Myne began to better fulfill her role as a blue shrine maiden, Gil began to develop a more cheerful, responsible, and hard-working personality. Myne observed that Gil initially did not know how to behave, since Gil was never given a real opportunity or the emotional support that he needed. When Myne gave him what he needed, he learned to respect her and hold her in high esteem as his mistress, spreading her greatness among the other orphans.
Gil also has a very kind heart, as he was the first person to implore Myne to save the orphans and was the first to thank her with tears in his eyes. He always does his job with great enthusiasm and joy to receive praise from Myne. He is naturally childish and impulsive.
Gil became the attendant who was the most involved with the Myne Workshop and the Gilberta Company. At first, he was afraid that Myne would replace him as soon as he became useless, which is why he puts extra effort in any task he is assigned to complete.
Story
When Myne joined the temple, the High Priest, ordered by the High Bishop, assigned Gil to be one of her retainers, believing that the most troublesome boy would give her a headache.
Due to Myne’s ignorance, to the extent of not knowing that blue priests are supposed to provide living necessities for their retainers, Gil was left with nowhere to sleep and nothing to eat. After Myne bonded with Fran and realized that she failed at being a proper mistress, she worked hard to fulfill her role. So, she acquired the orphanage director's chambers and tested Gil whether he could be a proper retainer. Gil passed and was praised by Myne, now also having a place to live and receiving meals.
Gil was baptized before the orphanage's state got worse, which is why he did not know about the orphanage's actual state until he took Myne to the pre-baptized children. He pleaded for help to Myne, which eventually led to the reformation of the orphanage.
