The Knight's Order is constituted of nobles, who have been trained as knights in the Royal Academy.[1] The purpose of the order is to serve as the duchy's military, to protect it from feybeasts and feyplants too dangerous for commoners to deal with, and to police the noble population.
General Information
Clothing
They wear a magical armour made of feystones, which has a slot to store their highbeast's feystone on the back of their left hand. The armor is light and can change its shape according to its owner's will and can even be turned into the shape of a small gemstone for easy storage when not in use. The cloak is attached to the armor around the shoulders. Knights also wear a helmet which covers most parts of their face. In addition to their main armor, Knights also wear a skin-tight bodysuit underneath their regular clothing or armour. This suit is also a magic tools that provides the user with protection even when they appear to be wearing just regular clothing.
Knights also wear a cape in their duchy's colour. Most of those capes are embroidered with magic circles giving a variety of enchantments.
Weapons
All knights are taught how to transform their schtappe at the Royal Academy, and for most knights, this is their sole weapon. A few nobles, like Angelica for example, prefer to use manablades instead to have more mana available for enhancement magic.[2]

Miscelaneous Information
All Ehrenfest Knights wear a cape in the duchy's ochre colour. The only exception is Lord Ferdinand. The ochre cape he received from his father upon entering the Royal Academy was taken away and destroyed by Veronica when he entered the temple. In its place, he uses a cape he won from the Dunkelfelger noble Heisshitze during their shared Royal Academy time in a ditter bet.
The lower city's city guard is under the direct command of the Knight's Order.
The knight Eckhart was in charge of training new recruits to the Knight's Order, but has since left the duchy, accompanying his lord who moved to Ahrensbach for marriage. Due to recent events, his technically retired grandfather Bonifatius decided to join him in whipping the newcomers into shape starting next spring, and has since pretty much taken over training, not just the recruits, but all knights.
After his flight from the duchy, the Knight's Order under Bonifatius discovered a piece of sliver cloth in Giebe Gerlach's hidden room, capable of completely blocking any form of mana based attack, including those of morphed schtappes. When a transformed schtappe hit the cloth, it was unable to cut the cloth, leaving only the physical impact and thus rendering the weapons usually capable of cutting anything into effectively blunt weapons, no better than clubs. To have countermeasures against foes sporting equipment with similar anti-mana properties, Bonifatius added practice with physical weapons to the training regimen of the Ehrenfest Knights, and many members of the order are already carrying metal swords on their person, while on duty, to get used to the encumbrance of carrying such objects.[5]
