— Lamprecht to Cornelius in Part 3 Volume 3, “Winter Debut and the Playroom”
|
Lamprecht (ランプレヒト, Ranpurehito) is the second son of Karstedt and Elvira, and a brother of Eckhart, Cornelius, and Rozemyne. He is an archknight, who currently serves Wilfried as a retainer.
Personality
With a patient and easygoing personality, Lamprecht is dedicated to his work as Wilfried's retainer. However, his inexperience leads him to be less strict than he should be. He also seems to feel a sense of loyalty and affection for his charge, since he stays with Wilfried even after his reputation is tarnished by entering the Ivory Tower.
History
Lamprecht was born the second son of Karstedt, the Knight Commander, and Elvira, his first wife, making him an archnoble of Ehrenfest. Because the men in his family had historically served as knights to the archducal family, Lamprecht trained as a knight from a young age.
After his older brother Eckhart refused the position of Wilfried's guard knight, Lamprecht was selected. He lacked the experience to be strict with Wilfred, and his charge often ran away from his lessons and shirked his duties. Nevertheless, Lamprecht felt a sense of sympathy for him and felt it was his duty to do what he could in his role.
Lamprecht harbored uneasy thoughts after witnessing Rozemyne's blessing at her debut, but as Wilfried's retainer, he did not feel obligated to share them. The strategic adoption of Rozemyne, driven by her abundant mana, led to the blessing as a means to emphasize her value to the nobles. During the onset of winter socializing, the focus for Wilfried's retainers was to safeguard him during interactions with other nobles. It was deemed inappropriate to burden their lord with additional concerns that could contribute to his already melancholic state.[3]
During his time at the Royal Academy, he fell in love with a noble girl from Ahrensbach, and the two wanted to marry. The relationship was considered very feasible when Veronica was in power, since her faction was very supportive of ties with Ahrensbach,[4] but due to Lamprecht's mana capacity the girl's father was initially against their marriage.[5]
In addition to serving as a guard knight, Lamprecht also assisted the Knight's Order alongside his father and older brother. He was present at the trombe extermination mission that Myne attended as an apprentice blue shrine maiden, although they did not formally meet.
