Lanzenave is a neighboring country of Yurgenschmidt, accessible via the country gate in former Ahrensbach or Alexandria in the present. It was founded about 400 years ago, by former Zent candidate Tolkienheit.
Overview
Lanzenave's premiere export goods to Yurgenschmidt are sugar and spices, while their primary import are feystones. They would send their envoy to trade with Ahrensbach yearly.
Due to the fact that local people have no mana, they could not marry and bear children with the royal family descended from Yurgenschmidt lineage. As a result, the royalty members retain the look of Yurgenschmidt people, distinctly different from local people who have brown skin.
History
Dissatisfied for not being chosen as Zent despite obtaining the Grutrissheit, Tolkienheit left Yurgenschmidt through the country gate and reached the land that would become Lanzenave. He set up a new foundation using his Grutrissheit and casted Entwickeln to build his city, which earned him reverence from local people and got crowned as the king.
Since the foundation cannot be maintained without a schtappe, Tolkienheit requested the Zent of Yurgenschmidt to grant his son schtappe in order to inherit the foundation, but schtappe cannot be granted to people not registered as nobles of Yurgenschmidt. It was then decided to have one of the princess of Lanzenave stay in Yurgenschmidt and bear the future kings of Lanzenave, who would be granted schtappe when they come of age. The royal villa granted is named after first princess sent to Yurgenschmidt, Adalgisa, and subsequent children born from Lanzenave princesses are referred to as "Seeds of Adalgisa"[1]. The Adalgisa Villa was located near Ahrensbach's dorm in the Royal Academy, hidden by the blessings of Verbergen, the god of concealment. It is accessible via the door in the central complex or the teleportation circle in the Lanzenave estate in Ahrensbach.
The daughters of these princesses are raised as princesses of Yurgenschmidt. Of the sons only a single one is raised to be sent back to Lanzenave as the heir to the throne, while the others are all disposed of to prevent them from claiming the throne of Yurgenschmidt. Should a Yurgenschmidt father of such a son wish it, they can take the child back and raise him as their own. Any son meant to be disposed of who isn't taken in by their father will be executed. Because the fathers can never be entirely certain the child is truly theirs and the potential troubles this might cause with their wives, few nobles are willing to take in such a son. One of the few exceptions to this was the Sixth Aub Ehrenfest, who brought Ferdinand back to Ehrenfest to raise him as his own[2].
During the recent years, the local people had developed various anti-mana-wielder weaponry like mana-proof cloth and coatings, silver weapons, and poison that turn people into feystones. As a result, the royalty and nobles who wield mana lost their power and became de facto mana-supplying slaves[3].
Story
Fed up with their treatment back in the country, the royal family of Lanzenave plotted an elaborate scheme to get back into power. They are split into two factions: Leonzio's faction that wish to obtain their schtappe to strengthen their rule, and Gervasio's faction that wish to leave Lanzenave and live as Yurgenschmidt nobles permanently[3]. They conspired with Georgine's faction in Ahrensbach and Sovereignty knights led by Raublut to carry out a long term plan of infiltrating the Royal Academy, making use of the deserted Adalgisa Villa.
During their envoy's visit in summer of AM14, Leonzio managed to charm Detlinde, enlisting her help. However, their plan is hampered by the fact that the royalty decided to renovate the Adalgisa Villa as Rozemyne's residence after her planned adoption. With the help of Georgine, Lanzenave nobles registered as Ahrensbach nobles in order to acquire their schtappe, whereas Georgine's faction obtained supplies of their anti-noble weaponry in exchange.
Prior to Georgine carrying out her invasion in Ehrenfest, Leonzio and Detlinde trick Letizia into poisoning Ferdinand under Georgine's plan. The Lanzenave soldiers are then unleashed to raid nobles siding with Letizia, while Leonzio, Detlinde, Alstede, Blasius, and other Lanzenave nobles travel to the Royal Academy. Raublut tricks Hildebrand into opening the door towards the Farthest Hall, allowing Leonzio and other Lanzenave nobles to obtain their schtappe. Meanwhile, Immanuel assisted in re-registering Gervasio as secondary royalty member of Yurgenschmidt.
