Laugo is a devouring commoner merchant of Ehrenfest, who is in a subjugation contract with Grausam.[1]
History
Nothing is known about Laugo's history, apart from him becoming one of Grausam's devouring servants at some point in his life. When the purge of the former Veronica faction was carried out within Ehrenfest, his master had to flee the duchy, cutting Laugo off from his only way to discharge the mana, or "heat," accumulating in his body.[1]
Story
Thankfully for Laugo, just a little over a year after his master's departure, Grausam and his Lady Georgine infiltrate Ehrenfest and with them, comes the hope for survival to Laugo. At their behest, he uses his merchant connections to smuggle Lady Georgine and several of her subordinates onto boats, bound for the City of Ehrenfest. Georgine and her attendant disguise themselves as Laugo's servants and follow his "commands" until they are in private again. As a reward for his valuable services, Laugo receives a black feystone, at the beginning of the boat journey.
Once they reach the west docks, right outside the capital, the two women declare that they will not use the gate, but refuse to elaborate further. They give Laugo a second black feystone, to make sure he understands to stay quiet and loyal and then disappear into the crowds.[1]
