Laura (ラウラ, Raura) is a commoner apprentice seamstress living in the city of Ehrenfest. She is a friend of Tuuli, who grew up living near Myne's family in the lower city.
She and Rita also worked alongside Tuuli at her previous workshop.
Story
When Tuuli starts receiving preferential treatment due to her relationship with Corinna and her skill at making hair ornaments, Laura and the other apprentices complain that the workshop forewoman is playing favorites with her. She informs them that it's not favoritism. She's just working hard to stay neat and presentable like Myne told her to.
To soothe Laura and Rita's hurt feelings, Tuuli invites them to go with her to the north of the city on her day off and observe the fashion designs popular with rich people. They both eagerly agree, but after their visit, Laura and Rita confess that they don't think they could ever make the clothes rich people wear.[1]
A few years later, Laura's older sister comes of age and attends a ceremony in the temple led by the new High Bishop, Rozemyne. She tells Tuuli that her sister said the "tiny new High Bishop" was very strict with the attendees, making everyone repeat their prayers until they were recited correctly.[2]
When Tuuli is contemplating moving to the Gilberta Company as a leherl apprentice, she avoids mentioning it to Laura and her other lower city friends. She mentions that it's especially hard since Laura is worried about losing her job at their current workshop.[3]
