Leonzio is a grandson of Lanzenave's previous king Chiaffredo and an envoy sent to Ahrensbach by his country.[2]
Appearance
Leonzio is around 18 years old and 180cm tall. He has blonde to chestnut hair and amber eyes. He was born in Summer and has a Rainbow ring.[1]
Story
Part 5 Volume 6
In the year, after Rozemyne's third academy term, Leonzio is part of the yearly delegation sent to Ahrensbach as part of their close trade relationship. This year a member of the royal family is dispatched, to directly plead with their neighbors for help in convincing Zent Trauerqual to allow a Lanzenave princess to be sent to the Sovereignty, so a new crown prince can be conceived.
Upon meeting Lord Ferdinand, he is quite shocked, due to how strongly the Ehrenfest noble resembles Leonzio's uncle, showing quite clearly that Ferdinand is a Seed of Adalgisa.
When he is informed that Zent Trauerqual turned down the request to allow a princess to be sent to Yurgenschmidt, he pleads with Lady Detlinde, the acting Aub Ahrensbach, and Ferdinand for aid in changing the Zent's mind, which Ferdinand outright refuses. Detlinde clearly smitten with Leonzio and the sob story he tells, vows to do everything in her power to assist him and seems to assume that Ferdinand's refusal to help is due to him being jealous of Leonzio, over her.
In a later private meeting, Leonzio uses Detlinde's obvious infatuation to woo her, complimenting her in ways more akin to how commoners talk, than the euphemism laden language that is the norm among Yurgenschmidt nobles. Detlinde also becomes more pliable to his manipulations upon inhaling a sweet smell emanating from Leonzio.
While under the influences of his charm, Detlinde informs Leonzio about Trauerqual not possessing a Grutrissheit and that she is a Zent candidate, albeit hasn't been able to obtain her own Grutrissheit yet. Leonzio claims he is aware of the location of the original Grutrissheit and promises to help Detlinde to ascend to the throne, if she promises to marry him. Detlinde is only too happy to oblige, against the alarmed protestations of her retainers.[2]
Part 5 Volume 7
Once he managed to win Detlinde over completely, she distances her fiancé Ferdinand entirely, claiming that she abhors his jealousy toward Leonzio and dismisses anyone who criticises her over her frequent visits to the Lanzenave estate and obvious adultery and frequently visits the Lanzenave estate to spend more time with Leonzio. She also often invites Letizia to come along with her. At such occasions Leonzio gifts the girl with sweets and toys from his homeland. It is currently unclear, whether Leonzio is just being nice to a child, is trying to build a positive relationship with someone who might be the future Aub Ahrensbach, or has some more sinister, ulterior motive for this.[5]
Part 5 Volume 10
As we find out later, Leonzio is the leader of the Lanzenave faction, that wishes to obtain more schtappes in Yurgenschmidt, to be able to re-assert their dominance in their home country, where the rapid development of non-magical technologies, has left mana-wielders to lose nearly all their influence and be viewed as little more than mana-sources, by the general populace.
It was Leonzio, who came up with the idea to kill all the Ahrensbach nobles, not part of Detlinde and Georgine's faction and bring their feystones back to Lanzenave, with the permission and full cooperation of Detlinde and Georgine. While Gervasio seems to internally disapprove of this barbaric act, he does not stand in their way.[4]
Skills and Abilities
Magical
- Mana Capacity: Detlinde is able to sense Leonzio's mana, meaning he has mana roughly equivalent to her's, which appears to be adequate for an archduke candidate of a greater duchy.[2]
