explanation of the currency in the anime[1]
Lion is the standard currency scale in Ehrenfest. It is exchanged via seven-coin denominations or through the use of Merchant Guild Cards.
The currency is minted in the Sovereignty and is the same for all parts of Yurgenschmidt.[2]

Single Lion coins also exist, but are rarely used for anything other than giving tips.[4] When situations require making change of less than 10 Lion, people usually prefer rounding the numbers or compensating with other items.
