History

When Ferdinand first came to the temple, he chose to pick the absolute minimum number of attendant gray priests due the mistrust that years of abuse and assassination attempts by Veronica has ingrained in him. Lothar was one of those two gray priests he took on as an attendant.

Story

Part 4 Volume 9

During Hartmut's training time, he assigns Lothar to assist his successor.

Due to how different Hartmut's mind works compared to Ferdinand, Lothar initially has a hard time adapting to his new master, particularly his tendency to prioritize Rozemyne over everything and everyone else, including temple traditions, where the previous High Priest attempted to balance Rozemyne's innovations with the traditions.

To help Melchior's noble retainers adapt to the temple and tutor his scholars, Lothar will be assigned to the future High Bishop upon his entry into the temple.
