Mestionora (メスティオノーラ, mesutionōra) is the Goddess of Wisdom and one of the subordinate gods of Schutzaria, the Goddess of Wind.
History
Statues of her are erected in the Royal Academy library's second floor and at the Royal Palace.[2]
She is depicted holding the book Grutrissheit, the original bible. According to legend, the first king of the country was permitted to transcribe a copy of the book when he was chosen by the gods.[3]
According to old books in Klassenberg and Dunkelfelger, Mestionora is the child of Ewigeliebe, the God of Life, and Geduldh, the Goddess of Earth. To hide and protect her from her jealous father, the God of Darkness blessed her with hair as black as the night sky, and the Goddess of Light blessed her with golden eyes. To protect her further, she became the subordinate of Schutzaria, the Goddess of Wind, who boasts the strongest defense among all the gods.
According to this legend, Mestionora was also granted the use of all the other gods' Divine Instruments.[1]
Guardians of Knowledge
Guardians of Knowledge are people sworn to Mestionora, the Goddess of Wisdom, and no one else. Once the oath is made, it prevents any other oath or magic contract that would bind them to someone else from taking effect. Likewise, the oath is only going to work if the supplicant isn't bound by other oaths or contracts that would interfere with their supplication to Mestionora and is genuinely honest in their desire to serve the goddess.
To take the oath, the person needs to use stylo to inscribe the words onto the socket of a statue of Mestionora. The ancient text is recorded on an ivory tablet kept and cared for in the Royal Academy Library and goes as follows:
I am a guardian of knowledge.
I am one who swears loyalty to Mestionora, the Goddess of Wisdom.
I shall devote all knowledge born in Yurgenschmidt to Mestionora, the Goddess of Wisdom.
I shall spread throughout Yurgenschmidt the knowledge gifted to me by Mestionora, the Goddess of Wisdom.
I respect the wisdom of humanity and shall ensure its protection.
I swear not to falter before authority, to remain courageous in the face of might, and to continue seeking and gathering knowledge, which I shall offer to the goddess.
If the oath is made properly and accepted by the goddess, the letters will float up from the socket and will be absorbed by the part of the statue that represents the Grutrissheit.[4]
