Synopsis
Myne begins her new life in search for books. On the way she introduces things that could improve her current lifestyle. She is determined to make books herself.

Summary
Myne's past three days were a disaster. No books and toilets existed in her house, she caught a fever again and was dressed by her father Gunther, who she still perceived as a stranger. With her maiden heart in shatters, she luckily found things to improve her lifestyle. Myne asked Tuuli or Effa to wipe her body to clean and refresh her body. Furthermore, she now bundles up her hair to a half-bun using a hair stick.
Effa suggests going to the market together after confirming that Myne's fever went down. Myne seizes the opportunity and thinks about ways to ask for books she expects to find at the market. Tuuli is busy with gathering in the forests, so Effa and Myne alone.
It is the first time for Myne to leave the appartment and the first thing she perceives is the overwhelmingly cold and smelly air. As Myne is a frail girl Effa decides to carry her all the way. After leaving the apartment complex a medieval European city comes into her sight. She asks Effa all sorts of things while looking around curiously. But when they arrived at the butcher, Myne screams and then faints at the sight of a chicken being slaughtered and finds herself lying on a bench later next to her mother. Effa being happy that Myne woke up wants to continue the shopping. Myne panickly searched for a way to avoid going with her, still suffering from the images of the slaughtered chicken. As a result, she was allowed to stay with the nearby stand owners while Effa finished their shopping. Myne looked around the stands and talked to the owner of the pawn stand when she caught sight of a book. It was locked away inside a wooden box which implied its high value. Without thinking Myne pleas to at least touch the book using a genuflection (dogeza). The stand owner got weirded out as genuflections seemed to be uncustomary in Myne's new wolrd and so declined her request. In the same moment, Effa returns to pick up Myne to go back home. Instead of becoming discouraged Myne makes up her mind to create her own books if there are not any obtainable books for her.

- Myne wasn't carried by her mother until they reached outside. Effa held her hand while Myne practically jumped off every step because her body is so tiny.
- Myne faints from seeing a pig being beheaded instead of a chicken.
- Myne was forcefully woken up using alcohol as stimulant. That's why the stand owners let Myne stay behind with her, as Effa was a customer.
