HeaderSummary

Since Urano Motosu's awakening as Myne, three days have passed. During that time, she suffered one humiliation and culture shock after another. But she achieved small successes, which improve her new life slightly but significantly. She was able to persuade her sister Tuuli to wipe down her body and convince her to carve a hairpin for her. One thing she was not able to manage is properly exploring her new home. Myne's continued attempts to sneak out of bed to find books had made her family wary of her, causing them to keep a close eye on her as often as they could. Then, on the fourth day, Tuuli is alone with Myne at home. Tuuli has to clean the dishes, which is done outside. Myne has been behaving herself nicely the past days, to make her family let their guard down, so Tuuli decides to leave Myne alone reluctantly to clean the dishes. Immediately after hearing the door lock and Tuuli's footsteps fade away, Myne begins her operation "search-for-books-at-home". Her first hurdle is to open the door of the bedroom due to her small and weak body. The only option she finds are her parents' comforter. She is able to open the door by dragging it to the door and climbing onto it to reach the handle. Beyond that lies a room which looks like a living room combined with a kitchen, but lacks books or shelves that would store books. Everything looks dirty; there is no bath or running water. She finds two other doors; the first door leading to a messy storage room, and the second door supposedly outside. Shocked, Myne realizes that there might be no books in this house, due to them being expensive, and looks for written media instead. But no written media, nor paper, can be found anywhere in her new home. Myne is devastated, and she suddenly feels her fever return. Unable to think of a reason to continue life as Myne without books, she collapses to the floor in tears. Tuuli returned and finds Myne lying on the floor, crying, and angrily scolds her. Myne is only able to say she wants books. Tuuli calls out to Myne worriedly, but Myne, knowing she can't understand her feelings, just continues to lie on the floor and cry, wishing for someone who could understand her desire for books.
