The Plantin Company (プランタン商会, Purantan Shōkai) sells mainly printing-related goods. Benno is the head of the company.
Story
Part 3 Volume 4
As Rozemyne created more goods that didn't fall under the Gilberta Company's usual range of products of clothing and apparel, other stores became frustrated that they were unable to access the goods and that the Gilberta company was expanding beyond what was supposed to be their scope.[1] To avoid the growing problems with the other companies and the Merchant's Guild, Benno decides to split off all the business unrelated to clothes and beauty products into a separate company, leaving the Gilberta Company to Otto and Corinna.
He asks Rozemyne for a name to call the new store. Rozemyne chooses the name Plantin after Christophe Plantin.[2] He also makes Lutz the successor of this new store.
The product range is based mainly around printing, selling anything from paper to ink to finished books, with a spattering of other inventions that Rozemyne made, like Diptych, board games and playing cards of both the educational and entertainment variants.
After its creation, many other stores sent their best people to join the Plantin Company as lehanges to learn more about the printed goods and build relationships with the quickly rising new store.[3]
Apart from the direct trading of goods, the Plantin Company is also key in building new paper-making and printing workshops, usually in cooperation with grey priests from the temple orphanage. They have already worked to establish a paper-making workshop in Illgner and a printing workshop in Haldenzel.
Part 4 Volume 3
Following the first sale in the winter playroom, the visit of the Plantin Company to the Archduke's castle turned into a more formalized, yearly book fair.[4]
Part 4 Volume 7
In the winter after Ehrenfest began trading with the Sovereignty and Klassenberg, the Plantin Company takes the daughter of a Klassenberg merchant on as a lehange.[5]
