Rick (リック, Rikku) is the older brother of Marthe and an apprentice gray priest from the Hasse monastery.
Appearance
He has grey eyes and dark-green hair like Marthe.
History
Rick grew up in Hasse's orphanage. There despite his young age, he was used for hard labour and often beaten by the former mayor. In the year in which Rozemyne took up the mantle of High Bishop, the mayor signed a contract with a noble to sell Rick's sister Marthe and her friend Nora, with Lord Kantna as the middleman. Since only the girls would be sold, but not their brothers, the two pairs would be split up, leaving the siblings desperate for a way out.
Story
Rozemyne first meets Rick when she visits Hasse to ask if any of the orphans want to become Grey Priests at the newly built monastary.
To escape the fate of being split up with his sister Marthe, the two agree to go with Rozemyne. The same goes for Nora and her brother Thore. Rozemyne, not knowing about the contract, takes the four away thinking that this will help not just the orphans, but also the town, since orphans are a drain on their resources and finances.
Initially, the four have a hard time adjusting to temple life, especially when they are told that boys and girls have to sleep in different rooms, which neither of the brother/sister pairs is happy with, but eventually they adjust to their new life. Marthe being the youngest is the quickest to adjust to the new enviroment.
Not long after Rozemyne left, the mayor organizes an attack on the monastery, but the barrier around the building prevents the attackers from getting near.
With the help of Ferdinand, Rozemyne is able to approach Kantna and have the contract for the two orphan girls nullified. She then proceeds to pay the mayor for the four orphans, making their status as grey priests official.
Over the winter, they are moved to the main orphanage in the capital, but they return to their hometown's monastery in the next spring.
