The Royal Academy is located in the Sovereignty, the central zone of the kingdom[1]. All nobles are sent there once they are ten years of age during the winter. Nobles study there for five years with four courses available. These courses are the knight's course, the scholar's course, the attendant's course and the archduke candidate course. the second a civilian course and the third for children of an archduke. Only children of the archduke are allowed to take the archduke candidate course, which is also mandatory for them, as they learn how to govern a duchy and support the current archduke.[2].
Normally, a child will only complete a single course, however, it can be requested that a child can stay for longer than just the winter and complete extra or all courses available to them[2].
When attending the academy, only a single retainer is allowed to be taken. However, other children can be hired as knights, attendants and scholars which not only provides work but also experience[2].
The schtappe is also acquired at the Royal Academy[3]. After one graduates from the Royal Academy, they are recognised as full-fledged nobles[4].
In general, they learn the principles of magic in their first years, and specify their courses later on.
Schedule
Like schools on earth, the Royal Academy follows a certain curriculum which seems to change every year. Not only subjects but also times for meals are planned through with everything dictated by when the bell rings.

Trivia
- Ferdinand stayed at the Royal Academy all year, and only returned to Ehrenfest when summoned, because of the bullying he received from Veronica. Due to this, he completed the knight, scholar and archduke candidate course[2].
