Sigiswald (ジギスヴァルト Jigisuvaruto) is the first prince of the kingdom and Anastasius's older brother.

History

At their graduation ceremony Sigiswald escorted an archduke candidate from a middle duchy and later married her with the understanding that she would become his second wife once he married a woman from a greater duchy.

According to information gathered by Adolphine, Sigiswald cares deeply for his wife Nahelache.

He asked for Eglantine's hand in marriage, but unlike his younger brother he did so solely for political reasons, since the one to marry her is almost asured to become the next king.

Story

When his younger brother Anastasius offers to relinquish his claim on the crown if Sigiswald retracts his marriage proposal to Eglantine, Sigiswald accepts, securing his own guaranteed successon to the throne in exchange for enabling his brother and his lover to marry. After some hard work on his part, Anastasius also manages to convince King Trauerqual, Aub Klassenberg and Eglantine's biological grandfather and adoptive father, the Previous Aub Klassenberg to agree to this arrangement, making it official.

With Eglantine now removed from his consideration for a first wife, Sigiswald gets engaged with Adolphine of Drewanchel.

So that his new fiancé could wear the new kind of Ehrenfest hairpin at her graduation, despite Drewanchel not yet tradign with Ehrenfest, Sigiswald personally ordered such an ornament for Adolphine directly from Rozemyne.
