Waldifried (ワルディフリード, Warudifuriido) was the second prince of the former Zent and Trauerqual's older brother.[2]
History
Waldifried was the second-born son of the previous Zent and his chosen successor. He was the maternal brother of the third prince, but they had a different mother than the first prince.[1]
By the time his father died, Waldifried had already made his own copy of the Grutrissheit. After their father's death but before the coronation could take place, the first prince visited his younger brother in his villa. He slaughtered Waldifried and his entire family to usurp the crown for himself, only retainers and servants were shown mercy. However, he could not find the Grutrissheit on the spot. Suspecting that the third prince was holding the Grutrissheit, he waged war against the third prince[3] and thus igniting the most recent civil war in Yurgenschmidt, which would see all but one of the five princes dead and the fifth prince Trauerqual reluctantly ascended the throne.
After his death, his loyal retainer Hortensia, who was taken in by the third prince, was put in charge of cleaning up Waldifried's villa while the war still raged on.[2]
